Magic and Socialism

Following the Ritual lifestyle will eventually land the aspirant in the Inner Order. In this post, I comment about the nature of Consciousness in the Inner Order.

Affinity and Analysis

Few mindsets can hold in the face of analysis, and this is more so for the Mind of the aspirant traversing the Inner Order paths. It is very probable that the junior Magician will start identifying himself with ideologies, historical movements, or beliefs that might contradict with his reason. It is even possible that he will end up with sympathies towards thoughts systems that are inherently materialistic and anti-spiritual. Hence, I chose the heading. On the surface, the Magician will be surprised to feel attracted towards distracting and non-magical concepts. However, by now he can distinguish between petty zeal and the directives coming from the Higher Genius. Therefor, he is supposed not to analyse his situation or try to reconcile opposites. The unity of reasoning can only be achieved once all the tendencies in the psyche are developed to their fullest extent. Until then, the Magician needs to carry the burden of contradicting tendencies with his ego. There can be various reasons why the Magical student can feel warmth towards materialistic or anti-spiritual concepts. 

Magic Shrouded in History

The creative powers of Magic cannot be expected to always occur inside Magical or religious movements. Ancient Egypt may be the only Civilization where Magic appeared inside legitimately magical institutions. Since then, pure Magic has given way to Magic as a hidden agenda. The Magi of the Ancient age were interested in the power of Magic itself. As the Magical tools and rituals, which are in essence found in the evolution of thinking, developed, the Magi started to take on mundane roles. The difference between a butcher and a Magician is that the Magician's mundanity involves a mental dimension. As Karl Marx worked as the economist which predicted the political course of the next century, effectively, he was formulating the physical extension of a magical system. Communism has failed in all its promises and it was predicted to happen from the first day. It so happens that the Power of socialist movement in mobilizing the masses was more Magical than rational. As a result, the aspiring Magician will feel awe towards such ideologies that are driven by Magic, regardless of the contents of the actual ideology.

Is it time to spin your own bullshit?

The common aspect of all Magic should be an element of bullshit. It is hard to attribute any Power to Magic if it is to follow the rules of common rationality. The Power of Magic lies in its supernatural logic. Therefor, the Magician in the Inner Order ultimately becomes the repeater of the Magical system of his time, be it a form of ideology, art, business, or law. The outcome of sincere devotion to the Magical thought (i.e. real affinity felt within) is the acquirement of superhuman powers such as magnetism, authority, attractiveness, and popularity. Thus, the natural continuation of the Ritual lifestyle is the Ritual mindset. 

Where Does Magic Lead the Aspirant?

For a Magical system to be implemented in total effect, many Initiates should devote themselves to the Magical mindset without distraction. In reality, Black Magical opportunities arise in the Initiate's life that can effectively distract him from the Magical devotion. These will have the character of widening the gulf between aspiration and reality which will greatly reduce the effectiveness of Magic. For instance, a Magician pathworking in the direction of socialist ideologies can be suddenly presented a colossal business opportunity. If he seizes the opportunity, than he has no way of continuing in the Socialist path effectively. This also makes it clear why certain ideologies will appeal to the aspirant. The whole mathematics of Initiation is that the Magician will have to polarize himself in the direction that will attract the biggest test or temptation. What feels like the correct Magical path is so because of the potency of temptations it will invite. Hence, Black Magic has a neutralizing effect in favor of mundanity. However, if the Magician shuts himself away from temptation, he will increase his divine powers such as mind control, charisma, divination, and persuasion. Then, he will end up in a better position to reflect the Divine Will, while advancing himself spiritually.

Chaos Magic

To describe Chaos Magic, it is easier to refer to a different Magical mindset, the mindset of Christianity. The Magician aspiring in this path is supposed to lead a solitary, celibate life in service of the sick and the poor. Sincerely aspiring in this path, he will gain superhuman Powers. Now, the same Christian doctrine also gave way to The Inquisition. The difference between the Magician and the Inquisitor is that the former devotes himself to the negation of temptation, while the latter imposes the negation of it on the masses. The question is, would the Higher Genius require some Magicians to become Inquisitors? In my opinion, every Initiation has its counterpart in the Qliphotic domain, and the Dark Initiates advancing on the Qliphotic path are the ones responsible for the oppressive Magic (different than Black Magic). Thus, Chaos has its own servants which derive Power from hindering the progress of humans. In other words, it is only the Dark Initiates who are prompted by Chaos to do evil.
