Magister Templi (8°=3□) Papers - 2

Part 2 of my Grade of Magister Templi observations. Goodbye 'Ratio' The Golden Dawn tradition assigns the development of the Astral Body to the Adeptus Minor grade, but in my opinion this is fully achieved in the Magister Templi grade. Maybe, the terminology used is different among different schools, or I am mistaking my Initiation with a higher one. Also, it appears some authors attribute Astral body to basic emotions, while others describe something resembling Buddhic body. In any case, I have, for the first time in my life, found myself completely at odds with 'Reason' and 'Rationality'. My progress towards achieving my True Will could not proceed further unless I actively separated myself from the critique of appearances. Such level of alignment with the Cosmic Consciousness replaces all material, emotional, ethical (morality and justice), and social considerations of the individual will. Rituals

 What is a Ritual?

A ritual is an activity of the Will. Any action that takes root from the Will is a ritual. More rituals will bring the aspirant closer to newer Initiations. Every day and every hour you might be prompted to carry out a different ritual. These come from the Higher Will and direct your Life towards certain ends that are obscure to you. In order to find your ritual activity you can change your lifestyle and perspective as follows:

  1. Lead a life without purpose or efficiency. Do not block your urges for the benefit of more productivity. For example, if you do not have any money but still want to analyse stocks and follow the financial trends, do it. Do not postpone it until you have reasons to be interested in investing. Likewise, if after many days of investing research you end up not feeling motivated to put any money in any trades, do not. Don't try to direct your actions towards useful goals. If you feel the urge to read a certain book once a month, read the book in 10 years rather than forcing yourself to finish it in successive days.
  2. Be nothing and everything, and enjoy it. Do not expect your urges to make you a clearly defined 'somebody'. Don't expect your rituals to have consistent masculine, feminine, or another character. Have the courage to feel anything, everything, regardless of how it changes the way you perceive yourself. Trying to be a limited 'somebody' is not compatible with aspiring in the Path.
  3. Have no expectation for people or the society in general. Give up your dreams to aspire to a certain position, role, or function in the society. Before Initiation, you might have experienced some success in designing your social existence by certain behaviours and values, but after the Portal grade it is no longer doable. Also, as described in earlier posts, the Initiate is permanently ejected from the Baal System of mundane drama, and superficial efforts to find your way in are futile.

If the aspirant adheres to the above principles, he/she would free up their mind and soul for rituals. The rituals, motivated by the Higher Will, can now take place without judgment or limitation. It is important to note that the real function of these unconstrained behaviours is to surrender the mundane will completely to the Higher Will. Thus, the actions whether they involve magical symbolism or things as simple as doing chores, create unification at a higher dimension. Also, rituals are likely to ultimately result in a reward whose mechanism up until the final moment would not be revealed to the Initiate.
