Fishing for Souls: The Sociology of Magic

Opinion about the sociological aspects of Magic.

Fishing for Souls

In the previous post, I have offered my opinion on the Qliphoth being the 'Yang' of Consciousness, unconquerable and unintelligent. The Narcissistic human is an affected copy of an authentic person. He seeks affirmation, cannot ever be satisfied, and can do malice because of envy. Now, the Magician needs to understand these facts well not to get utterly desperate about the prospects of his power. He should bear in mind that Narcissism will present an attractive trap, an interesting but deadly puzzle. I hypothesize that Chaos keeps being fed through the theft of libido from the Magician. The Narcissist weaponizes his underdeveloped ego to create crevices on the Magician's ego to free up libido for his own greed. There is a following and hierarchy among narcissists, which makes them a community of some sorts. Now, the Magician's first duty in the Path is to cease all contact with the Chaos lot. He should spare all his energy for himself and seek the Virtuous Path of Yetzirah, i.e. a directorship of the mundane drama.  Hence, the Magician shall embark on the 'Fishing for souls', thereby seeking the virtuous and avoiding the immature. It is very important to note that outward signs such as morality, IQ, habits, manners, etc. cannot consistently define Chaos characters. The only signal is the red flag the Magician's Spirit raises, and the subsequent relief when this red flag is honoured. The Magician shall not seek any rationalization of his gut feeling, and carefully and courteously avoid Chaos.
